Screenwriters began returning to work after a tentative deal with the major studios brought an end to their strike.
Though the writers are still voting on the contract, they’ve started trickling back to work, and late-night shows like those hosted by Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon — the first to go dark in May — will resume.
But much of Hollywood will stay quiet as movie and television actors remain on strike. There is, however, a sign of movement, as their union, SAG-AFTRA, and the studios plan to pick up talks on Monday.
