California bar manager killed after being punched by customer who was asked to leave: police

A beloved California bar manager died after he was punched when he asked several rowdy patrons to leave the pub.

Leonard Hector Korpie, 26, allegedly delivered a single punch to the manager during a scuffle outside of Jamesons Pub in Santa Monica at around midnight on Tuesday, according to police.

The manager, whose identity was not revealed, lost consciousness and was not breathing when police arrived on the scene. The incident happened at Jamesons Pub in Santa Monica at around midnight on Tuesday. Google St View

Police attempted to resuscitate the manager with CPR until the Santa Monica Fire Department arrived and tried other lifesaving measures.

The unidentified bar manager was then rushed to the hospital, where he died.

The victim was reportedly a man in his early 50s, according to KTLA.

Korpie and two other patrons involved in the deadly scuffle were arrested and booked into the Santa Monica Jail, police said.

Korpie, who is from Venice, was charged with murder and is being held on a $2 million bail.

The other suspects involved were not named in the press release.

It remains unclear if they were released from jail.

Jamesons Pub is about a mile away from the historic Santa Monica Pier.
