According to an arrest warrant, the boy was purportedly punched in the face and spit at by his mother, father, and brother; the mother is also accused of scratching the back of one of the victim’s hands with a knife, WZTV-TV reported.

The young man was allegedly implored during the attack to renounce his Christian beliefs and proclaim Islam, according to the outlet.

“He stated [his mother], along with his brother and father, repeatedly punched him and spat in his face,” the report reads, in part. “He stated his mother then took a knife and scratched the back of his right hand with it. He stated his family, including his mother, demanded he recant and say he was a Muslim.”

Authorities became aware of the situation after his employer reportedly expressed concern.

When police arrived for a welfare check on Dec. 11, they found the boy with injuries, including lumps on his face and scratches. He was reportedly shaken as he described the ordeal.

The young man was transported to the hospital. Meanwhile, parents Nick Kadum, 57, Rawaa Khawaji, 46, were charged over the incident alongside 29-year-old John Kadum.

Khawaji was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, with Nick Kadum and John Kadum being charged with domestic assault, WSMV-TV reported.
