Grimsby Town apologise for tweeting Harvey Price video after FA Cup win over Southampton
Grimsby Town have apologised for tweeting a clip of Katie Price’s son after their FA Cup win over Southampton.
A short clip of Harvey Price was posted on Wednesday night along with the caption: “Signing off for the night! Enjoy your night, Town fans.”
The 20-year-old has a condition affecting his eyesight, autism, and Prader-Willi syndrome – which often includes symptoms such as learning difficulties, behavioural challenges and excessive appetite.
League Two Grimsby – who pulled off a giant-killing 2-1 win over their Premier League opponents to reach the quarter-finals of the competition – issued an apology on Thursday afternoon.
“It has come to our attention that an inappropriate gif was posted on our official Twitter account last night following our game against Southampton,” it said.
“The post was removed this morning as soon as we were made aware. We would like to apologise for any offence it has caused.”
It comes a few weeks after claims eight Metropolitan Police officers shared “inappropriate and derogatory” images of Mr Price on WhatsApp.
Former glamour model and TV personality Katie Price called the mocking of her son “disgusting” and said the officers should be “named, shamed and exposed”.
Back in 2021, Harvey was announced as an ambassador for the Mencap charity, hoping to raise awareness of learning disabilities.
Speaking at the time, he said that he wanted to “stop online trolling and be a voice for young people”.
