U.N. Chief Antnio Guterres Invokes Article 99 in Rare Move to Force Debate on Gaza Ceasefire
United Nations Secretary-General Antnio Guterres has invoked Article 99 of the U.N. Charter in a bid to force a debate at the Security Council on a resolution calling for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. Guterres’s spokesperson Stphane Dujarric announced the move on Wednesday.
