Pat Sharp leaves Greatest Hits Radio show after ‘inappropriate comment’
DJ Pat Sharp has left his radio show after reportedly making an inappropriate remark to a woman at an industry event.
The 61-year-old broadcaster, who is known for presenting children’s TV show Fun House in the 1990s, as well as his radio work, has left his Greatest Hits Radio show following the incident.
According to US entertainment outlet Deadline, Sharp made a comment about a woman’s breasts at the Conference News Agency Awards in London earlier in March. The presenter reportedly said he was “truly sorry” afterwards.
He had been due to leave his radio show at the end of the month anyway, but has now come off air earlier than planned.
A spokesperson for Greatest Hits’ parent company Bauer said in a statement sent to Sky News: “Due to the introduction of new weekend programming, a decision had already been made not to renew Pat’s contract which comes to an end later this month.
“However with this issue now having been brought to our attention, we have agreed with Pat that he will not return to the station with immediate effect.”

According to Deadline’s report, Sharp made the comment while hosting the awards event in front of about 400 people.
A spokesperson for Conference News said in a statement that the company “disavows” the “unscripted” statement made by Sharp, which “does not represent the ideals that we want to promote as a business”.
The statement added: “We’re doing our part to support the affected delegate in the aftermath.”
Sharp had hosted his own show on Greatest Hits Radio since 2019. He has hosted programmes on Radio 1, Capital FM, Smooth Radio and Heart throughout his career, and also presented some episodes of music TV show Top Of The Pops in the 1980s.
BBC broadcasting legend Ken Bruce is due to join Greatest Hits in April following his departure from Radio 2, while other presenters already at the station include Simon Mayo, Mark Goodier, Martin Kemp and Kate Thornton.
